NORWALK, Conn. Former Norwalk resident Helen E. Roberto of Naples, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 21. She was 86.
Born April 24, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Roberto was the daughter of Waldemar and Tonnie Theodorsen. Roberto began her career as an operator at AT&T in the 1940s and retired from Perkin-Elmer Corporation in 1990. In her retirement, she worked as a teacher's aide at Hunt Ridge Montessori School in Fairfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Roberto; a brother, Wally; and a sister, Gerd. She is survived by seven children, Frank Roberto, of Virginia Beach, Va., Drew (Tish) Roberto, of Bonita Springs, Fla., Kevin Roberto, of Torrington, Conn., Tonni (Kevin) Haven, of Shelton, Candy Arthur, of Meriden, Conn., Heidi (Gary) Roberto-Gouldin, of Fairfield and Scott (Kimberlee) Roberto, of Trumbull; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
