Harold Tolles, 97, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Harold H. Tolles, 97, a lifelong Norwalk resident, died Thursday, March 26, at Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 15, 1917, to the late Harold and Lottie Lockwood Tolles. After graduating from Norwalk High School, he enlisted with the United States Army Air Corps and served in World War II. He and his wife, Mildred Henry Tolles, together built a home and raised their family. They resided in their home for 57 years. He was a lifetime member of the Free Masons Society as well as the Pyramid Shriners Club. He worked as an inspector for Nash Engineering Co. until his retirement. He enjoyed camping with his family and, after retiring, traveled with his wife in and outside the U.S.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred; his children, Terry Tolles of Norwalk, Lauren Tolles Jayne of Wilton; Robert Tolles and wife, Nancy, of Pennsylvania; and William Tolles of Wilton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law.
