Frank J. Soldano, 82, Norwalk Resident And Korea Vet

NORWALK, Conn. - Frank J. Soldano, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, March 19. He was 82.

Soldano was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 25, 1931, son of Ralph and Adele Lovaglio Soldano, and moved to Connecticut in 1964. He attended Brooklyn Schools and was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic. He served his country as a Marine in Korean, and was retired from the City of Stamford where he had been city engineer.

Soldano is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Adele Calbick (Joe) of Weston, Theresa Weber (Karl) of Shelton, and Ralph Soldano (Gary Treppeda) of West Haven; sister, Marie Lampel (Frank) of Port Jefferson, N.Y.; step-daughter, Margaret McIntire (Michael) of Ridgefield; eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmela; and a step-daughter Marie Tierney.

There will be a chaplet of Divine Mercy and rosary services Thursday March 21, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 22, 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Entombment with full military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Soldano’s name may be made to St. Jerome Church.
