Carl Paight, 85, Former Norwalk High School Coach

NORWALK, Conn. – Carl Paight, a former Norwalk High School coach and teacher, died Sept. 16 in Palm Harbor, Fla., surrounded by his children. He was 85. 

He served in the Coast Guard during World War II and graduated from Southern Connecticut State College, where he was captain of the varsity football team. Paight's passion for coaching started at Masuk High School in Connecticut.

He went on to teach and coach at Norwalk High School and coach football at Western Connecticut State College, Fordham University and Weston High School. He also served as the recreational director in his hometown, Weston. His coaching and teaching career spanned four decades.  

Paight is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey S. Paight; four children, Mindy Paight, Andy Paight, Joseph Paight and David Paight; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Funeral services have not been announced. Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, Fla., is handling arrangements.
