Born in Belfast, Maine, Grey and her husband moved to Norwalk decades ago. She worked for Lavender Laundry in Norwalk for many years. She was also a cook for clergy at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Norwalk, where she was a parishioner.
Grey is survived by her children, Barbara Louise Grey of Redding, Richard Grey of Seymour, William Grey and his wife Dana of Monroe, and Robert Grey and his wife Jan of Bridgeport; stepdaughters Deborah Grey Rhodes of Rockland, Maine, and Donna Grey Diamond of Danvers, Mass.; grandchildren Ricky Grey of Center Belmont, Maine, and Melissa Dagostino of Loudon, Tenn.; brother-in-law Bruce Grey and his wife Lorraine of Stonington; sister-in-law Norma Carter of Turner, Maine; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Howard Grey; parents Everett and Lorraine Carter; brother Everett Carter Jr.; and half-brothers William and Lewis Edwards.
Visiting hours were scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 E. Wall St., Norwalk. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Mary's Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk. Interment will be private and at a later date.
