Arthur Davidson, 99, Longtime Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. -- Arthur Davidson, loving husband of the late Sheryl Davidson, longtime residents of Norwalk and then Oronoque Village in Stratford, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. He was 99. 

A 1936 graduate of N.Y.U. with a degree in chemistry, Davidson was an accomplished bridge player. He owned The Gift Shop in South Norwalk for many years before his retirement.

Davidson is survived by his children, Helaine Davis (wife of Richard Davis) of Fairfield, and Robert Davidson (husband of Maggie) of New York City, a sister, Irma Kramer, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and an extended family that included six step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with internment following at Independent Hebrew Cemetery on Richards Avenue in Norwalk.
