Anthony Scinto, 76, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Anthony "Tony" Scinto, 76, of Norwalk, died Thursday, March 26.

Born Aug. 14, 1938, in Port Chester, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leonard and Inez Scinto. Scinto served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by the A&P food store chain for 46 years. He retired as director of general merchandise. A Norwalk resident since 1971, he was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, the Yankees and the UConn women's basketball team.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Finnigan Scinto; one son, Tony Scinto, of Trumbull, Conn.; a daughter, Gina Scinto of Norwalk; a sister of Norwalk; and three granddaughters.

Friends may call Sunday, March 29, from 3-7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 30, at 10 a.m. in St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
