Original story: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Could you be Fairfield County's next millionaire? The jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing has reached more than $425 million.
The jackpot is the third-largest in Powerball history. If you match all five numbers and the Powerball number on a $2 ticket, the cash value of the ticket before taxes would be about $240 million.
The record Powerball jackpot was $590.5 million, won in May by an 80-year-old woman in Florida. The second-largest jackpot of $587 million was split by two players -- one from Arizona and one from Missouri -- in November.
The drawing will take place at 10:59 p.m. You have until 9 p.m. to purchase a ticket.
