Update: Metro-North Trains Delayed Out Of Grand Central

Updated at 5:30 p.m.: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- All outbound and inbound trains from Grand Central Terminal were running with delays of five to 10 minutes late Thursday afternoon due to earlier track repair work in the Park Avenue tunnel, Metro-North said on its Twitter account ‏@MetroNorthTweet.

Original story: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Trains were running at reduced speeds Thursday afternoon because of the heat in Fairfield County, Metro-North said on its Twitter account ‏@MetroNorthTweet.

Commuters should anticipate scattered delays due to the high temperatures, which can have an impact on the train system's overhead catenary wire system, Metro-North said.

High temperatures were in the upper 80s and soaring toward 90 on Thursday afternoon.
