UPDATED 10:30 a.m.: Sevice has been restored on the main New Haven Line of Metro-North Railroad. Trains are running on a regular Sunday schedule. Riders traveling to Grand Central Terminal or New Haven should transfer trains at Stamford to complete their trips. Service is still suspended on the Danbury and Waterbury braches.
UPDATED 9 a.m.: Service on Metro-North Railroad is currently suspended in both directions between Stamford and New Haven because of a disabled train in the vicinity of Bridgeport. Service is also suspended in both directions on the Danbury Branch due to snow conditions in the city of Danbury. Officials did not know when service would be restored. Trains continue to run between Stamford and New York City on a Sunday schedule.

ORIGINAL STORY: If you plan on riding Metro-North on Wednesday to avoid the drive, you need to know that the trains are operating on a Sunday schedule. This means there will be significantly less service, according to an announcement on the Metro-North website.
With fewer trains running, riders should expect crowded trains and delays. Service on the Waterbury branch is also temporarily suspended because of the snow.
The MTA, which operates Metro-North, said Tuesday night it continues to work to ensure safe travel across the region, with snow-fighting equipment ready to keep rails free of ice and snow.
The MTA urges customers stay home if they are not required to travel. Otherwise, riders are urged to take extra care and allow extra time when traveling during the storm. Also, check the MTA website and media reports for the latest service updates.
