Tractor-Trailer Crash Blocks Lanes Of I-95 South In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- A tractor-trailer crash on southbound I-95 was blocking two lanes in the Norwalk area on Thursday evening, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

The accident, which occurred between Exits 17 and 16, has closed the left and center lanes. Some reports said all lanes were closed in the area due to the crash.

Traffic congestion was reported for 5.9 miles back to Exit 19, DOT said.

Motorists should expect major delays because of the crash and the cleanup.

The accident was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday, DOT said.

I-95 northbound is also congested between Exits 6 and 17 for 9.9 miles on Thursday evening.
