FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. After overnight and early morning low temperatures in the teens Monday, the weather should make a turnaround, warming nearly 30 degrees during the day, according to the National Weather Service.
The overnight temperatures were the lowest seen in Connecticut since February. But the forecast for today is for sunny skies and a high near 44, the weather service said. West winds of 5 to 8 mph will increase to 15 to 18 mph. Monday evening will bring a chance of sprinkles before 11 p.m., then a chance of sprinkles and flurries overnight. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low at about freezing.
On Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 44 and winds of 5 to 13 mph. There will be a slight chance of rain after midnight under cloudy skies with temperatures in the 30s. Rain showers are likely, mainly after noon on Wednesday with a high near 51. But the sun will return Thursday with a high near 51.
There is a chance of rain Friday and Saturday and highs in the low to mid 40s. But there is a slight chance of a White Christmas with a chance of rain and snow late Christmas Eve with a low around 32. Cloudy skies and temperatures about 45 are predicted for Christmas Day.
