Sunday May Turn Stormy in Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Strong storms may bring heavy rains and high winds to Fairfield County late Sunday afternoon and night, the National Weather Service warns.

"Storms will be capable of producing damaging winds ... large hail ... isolated tornadoes and localized flash flooding," a National Weather Service hazardous weather bulletin says.

The weather could turn nasty at about 5 p.m. Sunday with bad conditions continuing through the night. The highs will be in the mid-80s. The chance of rain is 60 percent Sunday and 80 percent Sunday night.

The chance of rain continues into the day Monday, but the sun should come out Tuesday, when the highs may drop below 80, the Weather Service says.
