State Promotes Election Fraud Hotline

Anyone who witnesses or experiences possible election fraud or voting rights abuses at the polls Tuesday has a simple way to speak out: a telephone hotline.

U.S. Attorney for Connecticut David B. Fein; Albert P. Lenge, executive director and general counsel for the Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission; Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz; and Connecticut Chief State's Attorney Kevin T. Kane announced Thursday the hotline would be available for anyone who witnesses or experiences voting irregularities on Election Day.

Connecticut's State Elections Enforcement Commission will staff the hotline during polling hours on Election Day. Anyone with knowledge of election fraud or voting rights abuses can call 1-866-733-2463 (1-866-SEEC-INFO) to report any suspected violations. From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Election Day, representatives of the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be in direct contact with the commission to receive complaints of electoral corruption or civil rights violations.
