Some Trains To Roll, But Not in Connecticut

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Metro-North will start up trains on a Sunday schedule on lower Hudson and Harlem Lines in New York State at 2 p.m. Monday, but the rest of its service remains suspended, including all operations in Connecticut.

In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene, Metro-North crews are continuing to assess damages, clear tracks and make repairs, Metro-North reports on its website.

The entire New Haven Line and the Upper Hudson and Upper Harlem Lines, as well as the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury Branches remain out of service. Metro-North reports on its website there is no signal and third-rail power because of downed transmission poles, fallen trees and water damage. After repairs are made, patrol trains must be run to ensure the safety of the tracks before commuter service can resume.
