Like a scene out of any Hollywood movie, a mysterious man sits down at a diner, the waitress sees a gun, and cue the action. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny may have made pulp fiction diner history, but yesterday during the lunchtime at Norwalk's SilverStar Diner, an observant waitress caught a glimpse of a handgun and called the Norwalk Police. The Advocate reports: Daniel DiLeonardo, 32, of 19 Rowayton Woods, Norwalk, was charged with carrying a gun without a permit, disorderly conduct and being a fugitive from justice, Officer Carleton Giles said. The police made the arrest, but what started as a simple possession charge turned more serious when DiLeonardo's name popped up as wanted for attempted murder in Miami. The police report says that DiLeonardo was charged with carrying a gun without a permit, disorderly conduct and being a fugitive from justice. The FBI report revealed that he was charged with violation of probation, a burglary and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Oct. 24, 2009. The Miami charges could have meant that DiLeonardo would be extradited to Florida to face prosecution there. But Norwalk prosecutor Justina Moore told The Advocate that Connecticut would prosecute. Carrying a gun without a permit conviction has a minimum one-year sentence.
