Rollover on I-95 Sends Driver to Norwalk Hospital

NORWALK, Conn. – An SUV rolled over on Interstate 95 at about 8:05 a.m. Sunday, sending the driver to Norwalk Hospital.

Only the driver was in the 2007 Nissan Xterra as it rolled over between Exits 14 and 13 on southbound I-95, the Norwalk Fire Department reported. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the SUV was on its roof. The driver was out of the car and being assisted the driver of another vehicle. 

“Norwalk Fire Department responded with an engine, a rescue and the command car with a total of 11 personal. ... The driver was placed on a backboard and immobilized to protect for any possible spinal injuries,” a statement from the department said.

The car was put right-side up and removed from the highway at 8:49 a.m. 

Connecticut State police were investigating. The condition of the driver was unknown late Sunday morning.
