A 12-year-old sixth-grader who posted a threat against a Ponus Middle School assistant principal has landed in hot water with both school officials and the police.
According to Norwalk police and published reports, the student said on his Facebook page that he would "Kill 'Mr. P'" (assistant principal Michael Pisseri) and "beat him up." Pisseri and the student had reportedly been involved in a disciplinary matter earlier in the week.
After other students told him of the threats, Pisseri checked the Facebook postings and called police around 9 a.m. Wednesday. The boy's grandmother was also called to the school.
During questioning by police, the student said he made the postings but did not write the threat. The boy received a summons for breach of peace and second-degree threatening and was released to his grandmother.
Ponus principal Linda Sumpter said the school district will follow its normal policies relating to student behavior, but couldn't say if that will result in the student being expelled or suspended. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport on Oct 1.
