Powerball Bucks Fuel Dreams In Fairfield County

NORWALK, Conn.  – If tonight’s Powerball numbers fall Michael Willcox’s way, he’s got some big plans.

“I’ll help the poor. And I’ll buy an island and disappear,” said Willcox, 58, just before he picked his numbers at South Main Grocery, all in hopes of collecting a $320 million jackpot.

Fairfield County residents are starting to flock to convenience stores for tonight’s drawing, all dreaming a little more about what they would do with so much money.

Ronnie Navarro, 54, of Bridgeport, already had about 20 tickets when he stopped by the North Main Convenience store Wednesday. Most of them are pooled tickets with his co-workers, but he did purchase some for himself. His big plans: buy plenty of real estate so he can make more money once the housing market turns around.

“I feel like I should give myself a chance like everyone else,” he said. “It’s two dollars and a dream, right?”
