Power Restored in SoNo

Power was restored to South Norwalk at 4:33 this afternoon. The area had lost electricity on Friday when a transformer blew. Businesses and homes went dark and street lights failed. Officials at South Norwalk Electric and Water, the company that supplies electricity to the area, said there was an "interruption" in the main power line from Connecticut Light and Power. SNEW buys power from CL&P. Norwalk Police reported a blown transformer near 314 Willow Street at about 2:30 p.m.. No injuries were reported. Neither Paul Resnick, spokesman for the NPD, nor anyone from SNEW had information on when power would be restored. In the meantime. NPD is supplying stop signs for local intersections.
