Power Outage Strikes Portion Of East Norwalk On Wednesday

NORWALK, Conn. – A power outage knocked out electricity to a portion of East Norwalk on Wednesday after a Norwalk Transit District bus struck a utility pole on East Avenue, officials said.

According to the Third Taxing District Electric company, customers on East and Strawberry Hill avenues – and various cross streets – were without power starting at just before noon. Passengers on the bus were temporarily stranded on the vehicle until crews removed the pole and affected power lines.

Officials said the electric company expected to return power to the area by mid-afternoon.
