The Norwalk Police Commission made a series of promotions Monday evening that resulted in an Hispanic and a Chinese-American holding the highest rank that either ethnicity has held within the Norwalk Police Department. Sergeants Sean Wong Won and Ashley Gonzalez were promoted to Lieutenant.
Detectives Melissa Lepore and Charles Perez were promoted to Sergeants, and officers Louie Giannattasio and Ryan Evarts were awarded Detective rank. The Norwalk Police force includes 42 minorities and 13 women out of 176 officers.
