The body found near the playground at Compo Beach in Westport at about 7:20 p.m. yesterday has been identified as that of Michiko Kamhi, 48, a Greenwich woman who had been missing since April 20, Westport police announced today.
The cause of death is under investigation. There were no signs of foul play according to a statement released by Captain Sam Arciola.
Kamhi's Volvo was found on nearby Bradley Street. The Westport Canine unit tracked a scent from the vehicle to Compo Mill Beach.
On April 21, police found the body of a dog which had washed ashore at Sherwood Island, adjacent to Compo Mill Pond. The dog was believed to belong to Kamhi.
