Pit Bull Attacks Norwalk Man And Woman

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man and woman were attacked by a pit bull Sunday afternoon and received multiple arm and leg wounds, police said.

The two were arguing at the woman’s house on Hanford Place when the dog, Samantha, became upset and bit the man on the leg, according to police. The woman attempted to pry Samantha off the man and the dog began biting her.

When police arrived, the woman came out of the house with blood all over her clothes and arms, according to the report. She had wounds on both arms and her left leg. The man then limped out of the house with wounds on his ankle and right arm.

Officers went inside the house, where they said the woman’s roommate had trapped the dog in a bedroom and was holding the door closed. An animal control officer tried to hold the dog using a control pole but was unsuccessful.

The animal control officer then cut a hole in a plastic shield next to the window air conditioner and shot the dog with a tranquilizer dart. The dog was taken to the Norwalk Animal Shelter, where it will be quarantined until July 22.

The man and woman were both taken to Norwalk Hospital by a friend to be treated for their injuries.
