Pinkberry Coming to Fairfield

A California-based treat shop that is a favorite among celebrities is heading to Connecticut. Pinkberry frozen yogurt will open its first store in the state on Post Road in Fairfield later this summer. The company will move into a vacant space next to Colony Grille, another newcomer to the neighborhood.

The store, along with future locations in Greenwich and New Haven, will be owned by Fairfield County resident Jamie Karson. Karson was formerly the CEO of Steve Madden, Ltd.

"We know Pinkberry will do very well in Fairfield and we could not have selected a better partner than Jamie Karson to help us launch there," said Pinkberry CEO Ron Graves in a press release. "Jamie possesses incredible business acumen and a commitment to outstanding customer service. These elements, along with his passion for Pinkberry, make Jamie the ideal candidate to bring our unique frozen yogurt experience to this region."

Started in 2005 in Los Angeles, Pinkberry has gained a major following with celebrities. It is known for its unique atmosphere and healthy style.

"The vibrant aesthetics and retro-modern chic décor create a fun and exciting environment for customers," Karson said in a statement. "I'm confident that the sophisticated consumers of Fairfield County will be impressed with the inspiring store design, outstanding product and impeccable service.

The Fairfield Pinkberry will feature six flavors: original, pomegranate, coconut, chocolate, mango and a rotating, seasonal flavor.
