NPD Salutes Officers

The Norwalk Police Commission named Officer Francois J. Van Rensburg and Officer Brendan Collins the NPD “Officers of the Month” for March.

Officer Van Rensburg was recognized for an arrest that began as a motor vehicle violation but escalated to apprehending a wanted criminal. The arrest also uncovered a loaded, illegal handgun.

Officer Collins was commended for an arrest tied to a string of commercial burglaries in South Norwalk. Since the time Officer Collins made the arrest, there have been no further commercial burglaries in the area.

Mayor Richard A. Moccia and Police Chief Harry W. Rilling recognized the two officers at the Commission’s meeting.
