Norwalk's IRS Office Is Moving

NORWALK, Conn. – If you're looking for in-person help with your taxes, you'd better not head to the Internal Revenue Service office on Belden Avenue on Friday afternoon. The IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center, located at 24 Belden Ave., will close at noon Friday and reopen at 1 p.m. Tuesday at its new location at I-Park, 761 Main Ave., Suite 1000.

If you need tax help you can still get it, though. The IRS website and the toll-free taxpayer assistance hotline provide free technical guidance and tax forms without requiring a trip to the office. The IRS toll-free number is 1-800-829-1040.

Taxpayers who believe their tax issues cannot be resolved online or over the telephone can visit the new office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
