Norwalkers Will Brainstorm a Transportation Plan

Want to be part of the solution to the problem of unifying Norwalk's redevelopment areas for cars, bikes and pedestrians? Munro Johnson, Project Manager for the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency (RDA), is holding a collaborative brainstorming session as part of his Master Connectivity plan. The idea of the session, called a charrette, is to bring people together to visualize possible design solutions.

Johnson's focus is on the urban corridor that encompasses projects located in the Wall Street area through West Ave. and areas around the South Norwalk Train station. These include Avalon, POKO's Wall Street Place, Seligson's Waypointe and Spinnaker's 95/7, among others. With the exception of Avalon, none of the projects has gone beyond basic road and utility work.

For the good of the city, these projects have to come together, in a unified pedestrian, bike and transportation corridor. All ideas are needed. The charrette will be held at City Hall on April 14 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. As part of the planning, Johnson is asking Norwalkers to fill in a five-minute survey about the concepts to be discussed. The survey is available here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WDCPT8P. For an overview of the city's connectivity vision, see the interim report, called Task A Progress Report: Opportunities & Constraints Findings, on the Redevelopment Agency's web site.
