Got any gently used children's books? Or maybe you want to donate a new one? Mary Oster, director of the Naramake Elementary School's Family Resource Center, will collect children's books at Norwalk City Hall's atrium all day Wednesday, according to Assistant City Clerk Karin Beggan.
It's part of the "Dr. Seuss Throwdown," a book drive competition put on by the United Way, Read to Grow and the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County. The goal is to collect 100,000 new and gently used children's books by June 1. Book drives across a 12-town region have collected more than 72,000 books so far, according to the United Way's website. They will go to help build home libraries for children in need.
