UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Train service returned to a normal schedule at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Metro-North Railroad reports.
ORIGINAL STORY: NORWALK, Conn. A malfunctioning drawbridge in South Norwalk caused major delays for Metro-North passengers Sunday afternoon.
The bridge failed to close properly at about 2 p.m. after opening to allow boats to travel through Norwalk Harbor. More than 200 passengers were reportedly stuck at the South Norwalk train station as a result of the stuck bridge. According to a Metro Rail website post shortly after 4 p.m., bus service was being provided between East Norwalk and South Norwalk.
Trains departing New Haven operate as far as East Norwalk, Metro-North reports. Bus service will be provided from East Norwalk to South Norwalk, where customers can connect with train service to Grand Central Terminal.
