Norwalk Begins Curbside Yard Waste Pickup

NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk will begin yard waste collection for residents who receive city garbage collection beginning on Monday, Dec. 8.

Residents must have their yard waste curbside by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their scheduled week of collection, as the truck will pass by only once during that week.

The yard waste schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday garbage collection will have yard waste collection on the week of Dec. 8 through Dec. 12. 
  • Thursday and Friday garbage collection will have yard waste collection the week of Dec. 15 through Dec. 19. 

Yard Waste will be collected only in brown paper leaf bags, garbage cans with no lids, or open-top cardboard boxes. Yard Waste in plastic bags, loose piles of brush and leaves, rocks, soil, and sand will not be collected. 

Brush must be less than 4-feet in length and 6-inches or less in diameter and must be bundled. 

There is a 25-pound weight limit for bags and 50-pound weight limit for cans or bundles of branches.

Logs and stumps will not be collected but can be brought to the Yard Waste Site located at 15 S. Smith St.
