Norwalk Beach-Goers Opt For Shade Over Sand, Water

NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk's Calf Pasture Beach and Shady Beach were popular places to be Saturday afternoon. With temperatures nearing 100, many people were in the water, but the cool, shaded picnic areas were more popular.

Henry Vargas was twisting balloons for his family as they enjoyed hot dogs and other beach foods. Many other families stayed off the beach, where the sun made things uncomfortable.

The forecast calls for cooler days ahead, with temperatures peaking at 89 Sunday and 82 Monday and Tuesday. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday, with a.m. showers possible.
