Nor'easter Set To Soak State Wednesday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The pleasant fall weather we enjoyed Monday is soon set to give way to a major Nor’easter that’s expected to dump heavy rains throughout the area Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has a 60 percent chance of rain for Fairfield County beginning Tuesday and 100 percent chance of heavy rain falling Wednesday, tapering off to showers Wednesday evening. The heavy rains will be from storm systems coming from the Midwest and the South.

Some forecasts say 2 to 4 inches of rain may fall by the time the storm clears out early Thursday. The National Weather Service is warning of strong winds and minor tidal flooding with east winds increasing to 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 30 to 35 mph. Minor to significant urban flooding is possible, the weather service says.
