New Haven resident Dequeisha Sledge - also known as Queish and Shontay - has been sentenced to 18 months of home confinement followed by five years of supervised release for her role in the drug ring.
An investigation by the FBI’s New Haven Safe Streets/Gang Task Force was launched in June last year following complaints of drug sales in New Haven.
The investigation included physical surveillance, more than a dozen controlled drug purchases and wiretaps. The investigation found that members of the organization were distributing crack cocaine and oxycodone in the area.
Sledge, 36, distributed crack cocaine on multiple times between September last year and January this year. On Feb. 6, a grand jury in New Haven returned a 30-count indictment charging Sledge and 18 others with a series of drug offenses.
Sledge pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute, cocaine base on July 2. Other members of the drug ring are currently being tried or have already been convicted.
