Metro-North Trains Will Not Run Monday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Metro-North Railroad will not operate Monday because of significant damage to many portions of the system, MTA announced on its website Sunday evening. All three lines will be suspended, including the New Haven Line and its New Canaan and Danbury branches.

Local streams and the Bronx River continue to overflow, and high winds continue to knock trees onto the tracks, the MTA says.

With some exceptions, service on New York subways will resume at 6 a.m. Monday. Service will be less frequent than usual, and riders should expect long waits and more crowded trains. Limited bus service has resumed to all five boroughs of New York City. Service levels will continue to increase but may not reach normal levels Monday.

Also, all service on Amtrak remains suspended on Monday between Boston and Philadelphia, including all trains in Connecticut.
