Metro-North has suspended Hudson Line service between Grand Central and Tarrytown due to the accident. But it has arranged bus service from the Tarrytown station to White Plains, where Westchester County commuters can pick up Harlem line trains.
Customers at stations between Irvington and Yankees-East153rd Street were urged to use the Harlem Line, New York City Transit Subway and/or bus service. Hudson Line tickets will be cross-honored for these services, Metro-North said.
The Harlem and New Haven Lines were operating on regular schedules Sunday for riders in Westchester and Fairfield counties, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Amtrak has also briefly stopped its Empire Line service between Albany and New York City due to the derailment. Amtrak's Northeast Regional service through Bridgeport and Stamford to Penn Station was running on a normal schedule Sunday.
