Metro-North To Shut Down at Noon Saturday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Hurricane Irene's approach will force the Metro-North Railroad to shut down all operations at noon Saturday, the Metropolitan Transporation Authority's website says. You can find a list of route that will be running Saturday morning here

Grand Central Terminal and all Metro-North stations will be closed while the trains are not running. Amtrak has also stopped all service between Boston and Washington, D.C.

The state will probably close the Merritt Parkway to the public at midnight Saturday, Gov. Dannel Malloy said. On Thursday night, Malloy signed a declaration of emergency for the state in preparation of the storm.
