Metro-North Riders Need Cash To Get Onboard

New Year's Eve revelers looking to board Metro-North trains to find their fun had better bring some cash along. The ticket machines at all stations, excluding Grand Central Terminal, are not accepting credit or debit cards for ticket purchases as of Friday. Riders need to buy tickets at their stations or onboard the trains using cash.

Metro-North says the process of repairing the machines will continue through the weekend. Higher onboard fares are currently being waived.

Vending machines at New Haven Line stations have the following sign posted: "Credit/Bank Cards Not Accepted at This Time." The good news is that trains are running all night.
