For the morning rush, a limited schedule from Stamford to New Haven will be made available and a special schedule through 3 p.m. Monday will be available online late Sunday night.
The New Haven Line schedule includes:
-Regular AM peak service to/from Stamford. -Regular New Haven Line off-peak service. -Regular New Canaan and Danbury Branch service, except for the 6:18 a.m. train from Danbury, which is canceled.
A schedule for Monday afternoon will be available online at noon.
Crews continue working to remove deep snow from the yards in New Haven and Bridgeport and to clear the track switches, a statement from Metro-North said.
Empty trains ran up and down the line overnight to loosen the wires and test the switches, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said. These test trains will help the railroad assess the conditions and better plan Monday's service, the MTA said.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is working with the National Guard to clear roads in and out of train stations and railroad facilities, to clear a path so that crews can report to work, the statement said.
Regular train commuters should expect that it will be difficult to reach their regular train stations because of impassable roads. In anticipation of this, Metro-North Railroad will be running 10-car trains instead of 15 during the regular morning rush hour.
