Man Shot Outside Norwalk Hospital

A shooting occurred just after midnight Thursday at Norwalk Hospital, according to Norwalk police. A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said Thursday.

The injuries were not life threatening, and the man was treated by emergency room staff.

Police were seeking a black sports car without a license plate, which was seen by a police officer. The vehicle went up Maple Avenue and up Stuart Street. Police say projectiles hit at least one window of the hospital's lobby.

At 12:25 a.m., police reported that the emergency room was shut down for the investigation. At 12:28 a.m., police stopped a vehicle that had a bullet hole in it on Westport Avenue. Its driver said the hole was old. Police were detaining the driver as they investigated. He had a police record that aroused suspicion. No arrests had been made.
