Limited Train Service Begins

UPDATED, 4 p.m.: The 4:34 , 5:34 and 6:34 p.m. trains departing Grand Central Terminal for New Haven have been canceled for Thursday's rush-hour commuters, Metro-North says.

ORIGINAL STORY: Train service is running on a Sunday schedule starting at 9 a.m. Thursday on the New Haven Line of Metro-North Railroad, the MTA says. This schedule provides hourly service. The 9:32, 10:32 and 11:32 a.m. trains from New Haven to Grand Central are canceled.

Riders should check the schedule for Sunday, Jan. 30, or visit the online schedule.

Service remains suspended on the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury branches, the MTA says.

Metro-North encourages riders to stay home if they can. Metro-North blames "significant snowfall" in Connecticut and as well as the Bronx and Westchester County in New York for the service problems.

The Hudson and Harlem lines are operating on a Sunday schedule.
