Himes Plans County Meetings on Storm Aid

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – U.S. Rep. Jim Himes plans two meetings to inform county residents and business owners about federal assistance available to cover the costs of damage from Hurricane Irene.

On Friday, Himes will visit businesses in Westport. He will be joined by representatives from the Small Business Administration, who will answer questions and make sure business owners have all the necessary information to apply for federal disaster assistance. Himes’ tour will start at the Westport Pizzeria, 107 Main St., at 1:30 p.m.

Himes will also hold public information meetings with the Small Business Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help residents apply for assistance. Those from towns closer to Bridgeport can visit the University of Bridgeport’s Wahlstrom Library, 126 Park Ave., on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Stamford area residents can go to the lobby of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
