Himes Launches Disaster Assistance Campaign

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – U.S. Rep. Jim Himes reminds area residents that they need to apply for federal disaster assistance in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene by the Nov. 3 deadline.

“As we continue to recover from a disaster that left many Connecticut residents with damaged or destroyed property, it is essential that we all do everything we can to make sure everyone is aware of the assistance available to them,” Himes, D-4th District, said in a statement. “I strongly encourage anyone with Irene-related damages to apply for this assistance.”

In the announcement, Himes warns constituents of the fast-approaching deadline and urges anyone who experienced uninsured losses to apply for help. Information on the kinds of assistance available and how to apply can be found here. The PSA is available in both English and Spanish.
