Heavy Traffic Causing Long Backups On I-95

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Heavy traffic was causing congestion and backups late Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Fairfield County, the Connecticut Department of Transportation reported. 

Delays were reported for 11.5 miles on I-95 southbound from Exit 20 in Fairfield and to Exit 11 in Darien, the DOT said. A cause was not given, although heavy rain has been falling in southern Fairfield County. 

Delays on I-95 northbound for nearly 3 miles between Exits 12 and 14 in Norwalk were also reported, the DOT said.
