Rain, Heat Wave Loom for Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- It may rain hard and then get really hot in Fairfield County this week.

Severe thunderstorms might barrel into the region late Monday afternoon, bringing strong winds and a chance of hail through early Tuesday, the National Weather Service says.

A heat wave should start gaining strength Tuesday and Wednesday, when temperatures hit the mid-80s. Thursday and Friday, which will soar well into the 90s, may feel like the hottest days of the summer, the Weather Service says.

Adding high humidity to the mix, Thursday might feel as hot as 105 and Friday could feel as hot as 110, the Weather Service says. There won't be any relief from rain, as skies are forecast to be clear through a weekend that should bring slightly cooler weather — we're talking high 80s!
