FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Trains were running at lowered speeds midday Friday because of the heat in Fairfield County, Metro-North said on its Twitter account @MetroNorthTweet.
Commuters should anticipate delays due to the high temperatures, which can have an impact on the train system's overhead catenary wire system, Metro-North said.
High temperatures were in the upper 80s and soaring toward 90 on Friday afternoon.
