Guiseppe DiMasi, Made Wine, Lived in Norwalk

Guiseppe DiMasi, a Norwalk resident who formerly lived in Stamford, died Friday, Sept. 9, at Norwalk Hospital. Born on April 6, 1929, in Guardavalle, Italy, he was 82.

He worked for Conde Nast Publishing and Frank Mercede and Son. DiMasi enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and making his own wine. He also liked writing poetry and reading.

DiMasi is survived by his wife Lilia Cappellieri DiMasi; three sons, Ilario DiMasi and wife Patricia, Vincent DiMasi and wife Jodi, and Agazio DiMasi and wife Michele; and five grandsons and a granddaughter. He is predeceased by a brother and three sisters in Italy.

Bosak Funeral Home handled arrangements. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart Church. Burial took place at St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery in Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
