Got a Used Coat? Give It to Norwalk's Needy

NORWALK, Conn. – It's starting to get cold outside and Christian Community Action would like your asssistance in its drive to help Norwalk's poor. The organization is collecting coats, hats, mittens, boots and blankets in its annual drive held in connection with the mayor's office.

Donations will be accepted after 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Norwalk Police headquarters, located at the intersection of South Main and Monroe Streets. Coats and other winter wear will be distributed the following day from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the police station. Any low-income resident of Norwalk, New Canaan, Wilton, Weston and Westport who needs a coat or blanket is invited. CCA will have adult and children's coats, hats, mitts, boots and new ladies shoes.

Last year the organization distributed about 1,500 coats in three hours.
