NORWALK, Conn. A retired Norwalk Police sergeant who was seriously injured in a Weston motorcycle accident Friday is "doing better" and recovering gradually, according to Norwalk Police Chief Harry Rilling.
Russell "Chuck" Fallo, 57, a Weston school district employee, lost control of his motorcycle on Newtown Turnpike on his way to work, possibly after hitting black ice. according to Weston Police Sgt. Matt Brodacki. Fallo, the lead security officer for Weston schools, was seriously injured and was taken to Norwalk Hospital. Brodacki thought he might be in an induced coma.
"He's doing well," Rilling said. "We're optimistic that he's going to gradually get better and it's just going to take a little bit of time. We're there for the family and trying to stay in touch with them."
Fallo, a Norwalk police officer for more than 30 years, was known for his perfect attendance record and was "an extremely well-liked supervisor," Rilling said. "He was a high-level producer and had a lot of energy. He loved his time on the job and it was very difficult for him when it became time to leave."
