Fog Settles In Across Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fog was forming late Wednesday across coastal Connecticut because of a combination of light winds and high moisture levels, the National Weather Service said.

Visibility ranged from a half-mile to 2 miles, with patchy dense fog reducing visibility to a quarter-mile or less in some spots Wednesday night, the weather service said.

The fog was expected to remain overnight, with some improvement once rain showers moved into the area shortly after daybreak Thursday, it said.

Motorists were warned to use caution while driving, to use low-beam headlights and to slow down.

Showers were likely Thursday, with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m. and patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, it will be cloudy, with a high near 66 degrees. New rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch are possible, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
